A book to check out:
Beyond the Wicked Willow: Chronicles of a Teenage Witch Slayer
By M.J. Rocissono.
FRANKIE FRETINI has had a horrible year. And, just when he thinks things are looking up, well…all heck breaks loose. It happens in home-ec class just moments after the girl of his dreams, Jenny Moran, invites him to the annual town carnival. Still dazed from the unexpected invite, Frankie accidentally plasters the face of school bully, Brick McDuddy, with a giant scoop of chocolate mousse. Embarrassed, and fuming mad, Brick plots to deliver his painful revenge at the carnival. When Frankie, and his pals, Sam, Beef, and Bookworm show up to meet Jenny, Brick and his nasty bootlickers, Harold “The Horrible” Dunson and Billy “Scat” Pile, chase them into the eerie tent of an old Gypsy fortuneteller named Mala. Trapped with nowhere to run, Frankie makes a pact with Mala not knowing that he and his pals would be swept through her crystal ball to Medieval Italy. Now, their only hope to return home rests in Frankie’s hands. He must kill the evil Italian witch, Il Strega Diavolo, and rescue Mala’s twin sister, Tsura. But, can Frankie find the courage to face the Strega?

How fun! 🙂
And because…why not! A GIANT BEAR. I may a grown woman, but I feel like I want a GIANT BEAR in life. What a great reading spot. This also reminds me that I used to have a GIANT pink bear as a child…I wonder what ever happened to it?
Whoa. Typing that took my breath away. Deadlines, deadlines, deadlines!
I’m SO EXCITED.

This book exceeded my plot expectations. I swear these characters have a mind of their own. Tweens. Same in real life, I suppose.
ALSO- this might get hidden here, but I HAVE to tell you. We had so much fun in the seven-day giveaway, we are going to another one! Well, not seven-days, but a giveaway.

TGIF. And now, back to writing. (Sorry for lack of blogging- books come first!)
Truth is, I don’t know.
I’ve been supo-busy. (I also like to make up my own phrases- if you don’t know me, I thought I would offer that disclaimer.)
‘Saving Tuma’ has been out for ten months- and the sequel is JUST now getting ready for publishing. I’m behind schedule. But that’s okay, because it was my schedule.
I enjoyed writing the characters through this book so much, I am anxiously ready to begin book 3, with the hopes that it will only take a few months. Or, at least less than ten.
Book 2 brings a little more excitement & danger to the trio as Cara disappears and Wendy and Daniel embark on a adventure to find her. Don’t worry- the Tumans play a central role, and favorite characters like Koda, Fanny and Zuzu return.
Enough about that. For now. 😉
I want to hear from you.
- Are there are GREAT middle grade fiction books that you just LOVE? I’m a fan of characterization. I want awesome characters.
2. I’m growing my reader team. If you are interested in being a beta reader or if you are a blogger interested in a copy of either book, email me.
